Normally I would take a slice of humble pie and gobble it up, BUT TODAY IS NOT THAT DAY! I want to give a huge shout out to myself and my UH-MAZE-ING roomies for hosting (and killing) our first annual friendsgivng! I’ve gotten rave reviews about the food and ambiance of the night and I’m so thrilled to share some of our recipes!
It was one of those nights that was just really chill with great company. (AND, because I’m poor) everyone contributed a dish and there wasn’t a left over in sight.
The Thanksgiving staples I look forward to all year are: Turkey, ham, green bean casserole, yams, corn casserole, stuffing and good ol’ pumpkin pie! I feel like without these dishes, it’s just not Thanksgiving.
Here are some quick and easy recipes to help ease your holiday season!
The turkey was prepared by yours truly and it was my first time EVER preparing one. I winged it [No pun intended 😉 ] and it turned out perfectly juicy.
Old-Fashioned Baked Ham
To Die For Green-bean Casserole
5 Ingredient Corn Casserole
Sweet Baby Yams
*Edit* Mash half in a separate bowl. Cover with marshmallows and broil before serving*
Savory Stuffing
And last but not least- home-made pumpkin pie
I took the recipe for these mini-pumpkin pies and made a big one.
I hope everyone has a safe and fun holiday season. I hope these recipes ease your stress in the kitchen. A tip that I’ve learned is to TIME MANAGE! Make as many things you can a head of time so you aren’t rushed when it comes time for your guests to arrive. There’s nothing that makes me happier than hosting my friends and making them feel appreciated. I could do this everyday! Tehe.
